The Wild Swimming Woman

Midsummer Retreat

at

Combe Head House

“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” John Lubbock, The Use Of Life

Join me for a midsummer retreat in at the utterly gorgeous Combe Head House in Somerset from Friday 12th~Sunday 14th June 2026.

A summer’s weekend of wild swimming delights, sauna sessions, woodland feasts, sound baths, meditation and Wild Circles and plenty of time to connect with the land and natural spring waters of this idyllic Somerset location.

Nestled in a peaceful countryside estate in South Somerset, this is more than a retreat—it is a returning.

A returning to stillness, to the land and waters, and to the quiet wisdom within.

Here, time slows, and presence becomes an experience of deep nourishment.

A space to rest, restore and revive your connection to soul and joy for life.

We’ll spend the weekend together at Combe Head House ‘a place to slow down, reconnect, and savour the simple things’.

“With its timeless charm, lush gardens, and historic spaces, our estate provides a truly magical backdrop”

This retreat is a midsummer celebration, just days before the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year. A time to celebrate our growth and successes, the blooming of our lives and nature’s abundances all around.

Throughout the weekend, you will be guided through moments of renewal and reconnection: individual time and community, nature and luxury, reflection and intention, doing and being, movement and stillness. Finding your flow…

Please scroll down for all the retreat details, the accommodation options and how to book your space.

“Nestled in the hills of South Somerset, Combe Head House offers peaceful stays, seasonal retreats, and gatherings that celebrate nature, creativity, and connection. Whether you're here to rest, celebrate, or create, you'll find space to breathe, nourishing food from the garden, and thoughtful experiences that invite you to feel at home.”

Combe Head House

  • The Woodland

The woodland provides a shady retreat from a midsummer’s day sun and will also be the location of our spectacular Saturday night fire feast and Wild Circle.

  • The Yurt

Situated on the lawn alongside the pool, this will be our shared space for gathering, workshops and another place to rest.

  • The Victorian Pool

This original clay lined Victorian swimming pool is fed from a spring that trickles down from the hill behind.

  • The Smallholding

The estate isn't just a home; it's a thriving smallholding. Spot, the matriarch sow, and her daughter Dot roam happily in woodland areas. A tribe of pygmy goats and a flock of pretty sheep share their field with the Orpington hens who supply fresh eggs for breakfast

Dwellers of the summer lands

The name "Somerset" originates from the Old English term Sumorsæte, meaning "the dwellers at the summer settlement" or "dwellers of the summer land"
